One of the best things about smartwatches is that they allow you to change the watch faces so that you don’t get bored with watching the same watch face every single day.
When it comes to Watch faces, WatchMaker & Facer are the two most popular apps where you will find thousands of watch faces. So, if you are interested in using one of these apps but not sure which one is better, then this guide is for you.
In this comprehensive guide, I will compare the various aspects of WatchMaker & Facer, which will help you decide. Let’s get started.
WatchMaker vs Facer: Watch Faces Collection
Let’s start this comparison with the collection of Watch Faces, which is one of the first things you should notice any watch faces app.
WatchMaker is known for its variety of watch faces, and the app comes with a collection of over 100,000 Watch faces. On the other hand, Facer comes with a collection of over 70,000 Watch Faces.
I also personally checked both apps on my smartphone, and the quality of watch faces on both apps is really good. So, in terms of watch faces collection, WatchMaker is the clear winner here.
WatchMaker vs Facer: Watch Face Maker
Facer Watch Faces is the ultimate watch face customization platform for WearOS & Tizen smartwatches. Facer offers everything you need to customize & personalize your WearOS or Samsung watch, including 100,000 free and premium watch faces from leading brands and artists. You can use design templates, premium assets, and drag-and-drop functionality to create working watch faces in mere minutes.
Both Apps come with thousands of watch faces, but if you want, you can also create one of your own with the Watch Face Maker in both apps.
The Watch face Maker in WatchMaker is a decent one. It comes with tons of options that you can use to add the various elements such as date, moon phase, animation, ring, map, and days. Also, it maker comes with tons of other features as well.
You can use the maker to create a decent watch face, but you can also get the premium membership to unlock more features.
On the other hand, Facer doesn’t come with its Watch Face Maker in the app. If you want to create a new watch face, you will need to use the web-based Watch Face Maker, which you should use from your laptop or PC. The overall layout of the Facer watch face maker is okay, but there’s certainly room for improvement.
If I have to rate both Watch Face Makers in terms of User Interface, I would prefer the WatchMaker Watch Face Maker because it’s more intuitive and easy to use. Also, WatchMaker comes with the built-in Watch Face Maker, which is a major plus.
WatchMaker vs Facer: Supported Platforms
WatchMaker & Facer are very popular apps, and both apps are available on all major platforms. WatchMaker is available on Google Play Store, App Store, and Galaxy Store.
Similarly, Facer is also available for Play Store, App Store, and Galaxy Store.
In terms of Supported Platforms, both apps are equally good, and we have a tie here.
WatchMaker vs Facer: My Experience
Now that we have discussed almost everything, now let’s talk about my experience with both apps. I have used both apps for an extended period, and I have some thoughts which I want to share with you.
Let’s start with the WatchMaker. The thing which I liked the most about WatchMaker is that it comes with a very simple and intuitive user interface.
It comes with the default dark mode, which is a major plus. Also, everything is very easier to find, which makes it easier to use the app. The one thing which was very annoying about WatchMaker was the Ads that were popping after every 3rd or 4th tap, which is pretty aggressive advertising.
Also, the watch comes with great features but many of its features and watch faces are premium, and the app also pushes you to buy its $7.99 subscription.
When it comes to Facer, it also comes with a really good interface. The user interface is very intuitive, and you can easily find what you are looking for. Also, when it comes to advertising, it’s not as aggressive as the WatchMaker, which is a good sign.
The app comes with a decent amount of free watch faces, but the majority of the good watch faces are paid ones. Tcg driver. They are not very expensive, but still, they are premium watch faces, and you will need to pay for them.
Based on my experience with both apps, I’d prefer the Facer app because it’s not very aggressive on Ads, and it comes with a decent collection of watch faces. You can go for WatchMaker, but it will ruin your whole experience (even mood) with very aggressive advertising.
WatchMaker vs Facer: What Users say about them?
Now let’s look at the average rating of both apps and what users say about them.
On Google Play Store, WatchMaker has over 51,000 reviews with an average rating of 3.5 stars. On the other hand, Facer has over 55,000 reviews with an average rating of 4.2 stars. Based on the rating, it’s clear that Facer is more popular than WatchMaker.
However, things take a steep turn when it comes to the App Store. On App Store, WatchMaker has over 9,000 reviews with an average rating of 3.5 stars. On the other hand, Facer only has 5 reviews with an average rating of 2.6 stars. Based on these ratings, WatchMaker is more popular on the App Store.
I also reviewed the reviews, and one of the major problems with apps was consistency. On WatchMaker, many users reported that they were unable to download their watch faces and the developers had no clue about it.
Similarly, many users reported the bugs and other issues in the Facer app. Overall, both apps have their problems, and developers really need to work on these apps, considering the price they are charging.
Conclusion
That’s all, folks. Overall, WatchMaker and Facer are two great apps, and both apps have their advantages and disadvantages. However, if I have to pick one, I’d pick Facer because it’s comparatively better, and it shows fewer ads than WatchMaker. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comment section below.
